On November 23 (Sun), an Indonesian cooking class was held with 30 participants. This time, four instructors from Indonesia— Mr Deo, Maxsi, Amiru and Rama—who work at companies in the city, taught us how to cook three traditional Indonesian dishes: Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Tumis Sayur (stir-fried vegetables), and Risoles (a pastry snack).
Mr. Deo and the others, who regularly cook, first demonstrated the recipes with smooth and careful technique. After that, they visited each table, tasting the dishes and giving advice while happily chatting with participants.
Although the seasoning was only about half as spicy as authentic Indonesian cuisine, its rich sweetness and the complex blend of spices created a deep, satisfying flavor, and the dishes were very well received by the participants.
Everyone was fascinated not only by the authentic food but also by the warm personalities of the instructors.
