On October 7 and 21 (Tue), we held the “World Tours~Brazil Edition,” with 12 participants attending. The lecturer, Mr. Lucas from Brazil, introduced the charm of his country in English, using colorful and captivating visuals to cover a wide range of topics, including its history, people, cuisine, sports, music, and the Portuguese language.
The Brazil that Mr. Lucas presented went far beyond the typical Japanese stereotyped image of soccer and samba, revealing a country of many many-sided fascination, blessed with rich nature and abundant resources.
Ms. Akemi Kimura, who kindly assisted as both interpreter (Portuguese and English) and class supporter, joined Lucas for an impromptu dance performance. In addition, participants were delighted by a surprise gift — a homemade Brazilian carrot cake, Bolo de cenoura, baked by Lucas himself using his culinary skills.
The sessions not only conveyed the boundless potential of Brazil but also offered a wonderful opportunity to to be touched by his warm and hospitable personality.
